Joy Schoffler is an award winning communications, marketing and investor relations advisor, with deep expertise accelerating growth by building systems and messaging to attract and convert customers, investors and key-stakeholders.
She founded and sold technology-focused strategic communications firm, Leverage PR. There she worked with foreign economic ministries, public and private technology and financial services brands, and NGOs. The firm’s specialty FinTech practice served clients across cyber security, blockchain, proptech, investment tech, banking, payments, artificial intelligence, and many other highly technical areas.
With a data driven approach to marketing and communications, she starts with end goals in mind, sets KPIs, monitors and optimizes. This approach has led to exceptional results including: over one billion in capital raised, multiple exits, cutting edge technologies built and scaled, profitable M&A strategies executed, international sales and distribution channels built and scaled, major customers and partnerships closed. Most importantly, massive share-holder value was created.
With a passion for bringing the right people together, Joy has managed media for events at the White House, U.S. Capitol, a Shark Tank casting call, major conferences like SXSW and organized numerous exclusive VIP industry events.
After Leverage, Joy served as Chief Strategy Officer for Casoro Capital, the capital markets arm of a 17-year-old, vertically integrated, CRE investment firm. There she raised capital for direct investments ranging in value from $18-$80 million. She also ran all aspects of building and managing their tech-enabled, Public Non-traded REIT, Upside Avenue. Built at a fraction of the cost of competitors, it won CRE’s best new online capital raising platform and created successful acquisition channels for retail, RIAs and institutional investors.
In addition to serving as a trusted advisor, Joy currently serves as a partner at Ascendant Industries, investing across maritime, industrials and defense. As an LP investor she manages a portfolio of FinTech and real estate investments and previously served on the investment committee for the Casoro Family Office.
A former director of acquisitions of The PPA Group, Joy helped acquire $250 million in real estate, making Inc. Magazine’s “Inc. 5000” list of fastest growing firms, twice.
She is an advisor and mentor to industry boards and often donates time and resources to philanthropic ventures. Past and current board positions include: SXSW & AARP Accelerator, FinTech Professionals Association and spent 4 years with CFIRA working with the SEC and FINRA on JOBS Act implementation, enabling online investing as we know it today.
A sought-after speaker and media contributor, Joy won numerous awards including Women Communicators “Outstanding Communicators”, CEO Magazine “Entrepreneur of the Year” and Austin Under 40 award. Joy served as an officer in the Army Reserves & Texas State Guard.
